In the presence of Prof. Dr. Faraj Ali Abushaala, president of Misurata University; Prof. Dr. Mokhtar Al-Amary, director of Postgraduate Studies Department at the Ministry of Education; Dr. Mohamed Al-Taher, director of Department of Academic Affairs at the Postgraduate Department at the Ministry of Education; and a selection of academics and those interested in postgraduate studies, the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Training at the University, in cooperation with the Students’ Union of Misurata University, held a workshop on “ Misurata University Experience in Postgraduate Studies” at Saturday morning, on February 13, 2021, at the conference and workshop room at the Faculty of Arts. Proceedings of the workshop were initiated, under the supervision of Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Mohamed Sawalem; and Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Training, Dr. Mustafa Al-sharif, with reciting verses from the Holy Quran. After that, the President of the University gave a speech, which he started with praying upon Prophet Muhammad, welcoming and thanking the attendees, and expressing his appreciation of the tireless efforts towards the development of postgraduate studies. Following that, presentations introducing the postgraduate studies program at universities and the experience of Misurata University in this field, in which it proved its worth, started. Later, Director of Postgraduate Studies and Training Department, Dr. Mustafa Al-sharif, delivered a presentation which was an introductory presentation on the administration of postgraduate studies and training at the university and its future plans. Following this, Director of Quality Insurance and Performance Evaluation Office at the University, Mr. Abdulkhader Abujlala, delivered a presentation entitled “Application of Quality Criteria and its Impact on the Organization and Development of Postgraduate Studies at the University”. Then, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Mr. Issa Manita, together with Engr. Ismail Al-Batrukh, gave a joint presentation about “Governance of Postgraduate Studies Department and the Mechanism for Linking it to the Ministry of Education”. The last presentation was delivered by Dr. Mustafa Al-Taher Al-Ayeb, which was entitled "Guiding Scientific Research of Postgraduate Studies at the University to Contribute to Overcoming the Challenges Facing the Libyan Society”. During the presentations, all attendees were given the opportunity to express their views, enrich the discussion with their academic opinions, exchange views, and offer questions and feedback in order to contribute to the constant development of postgraduate studies in the university.
